A new fee schedule was approved by your City Council at their November 6, 2012 meeting. Comments made at that meeting indicate that city utility fees are set to increase by 5%. There was no fee hearing so citizens did not have the opportunity to voice any concerns they may have had about the increase. State Law requires that a public hearing be held whenever new fees are added or existing fees are increased by more than 5%. When fees are increased exactly 5% a hearing may not be required, but is recommended by ICRMP - Idaho Counties Risk Management Program.
CITY UTILITY FEES 2012 - 5% increase approved by your Mayor and City Council on November 6th.
The city utility bill has gone up 5% every year. When is the last time you got a 5% increase in income. I find that it's very difficult to come up with that $84.00 a month especially when Harrison is a second home.
Residential Utility Bill:
Water - 0 to 3000 gallons $25.28
Sewer $41.38
Garbage $11.05
Street Lights $ 4.85
Capitalization Fee $ 1.48
TOTAL $84.04
* Each addition 1000 gallons of water or fraction thereof is billed at the rate of $1.35.
Late charge is $1.50 if paid after the bill due date. $5.00 is added
to the late charge plus 1% interest if paid after the 25th of the month
following the due date.
If water service is shut off due to non-payment $150.00 reinstatement fee must be
paid before service will be restored.
The fee schedule available on this website is the one in effect prior to the city council adopting a new fee schedule in November 2012. I will publish the current fee schedule as soon as I can get a copy of it.
